Morning Worship Service

Morning Worship Service begins at 10:00 AM every Sunday in the Church Sanctuary.
Dress is "Come as you are".

These services follow essentially a standard liturgy which includes:

GATHERING TO WORSHIP GOD

This is a time for worshippers to prepare themselves to receive the Word of God.  This includes a Welcome and Announcements, Call to Worship, an invocation, hymn, and the "Sharing of the Peace".

OFFERING OURSELVES TO GOD

This is the time when we share the day's Gospel lesson with the children and a time for sharing our prayer concerns and praises followed by the Lord's Prayer.

LISTENING TO GOD THROUGH HIS WORD

At this time we receive the Word of God from Scripture and preaching.  It begins with the morning’s Old Testament scripture reading, the Epistle reading and the Gospel and then the sermon.  We often have the choir singing an anthem during this portion of worship, puppets or a guest singer.  The sermon is typically followed by a hymn.  This is a time for worshipers to act in response to the Word they have received.  It includes a time for offerings and dedication of the offerings, including singing of the Doxology (Praise God from whom all blessings flow…), The Lord’s Supper is celebrated on the First Sunday of the month. The service concludes with a hymn and a Benediction, encouraging the scattering (of the congregation) to Serve God.

After church all are invited to the Fellowship Hall for coffee, punch, cookies and fellowship.
